Blancpain Watches

In 1735, Jehan-Jacques Blancpain created a watchmaking workshop in the first floor of his house in Villeret. He wished for his family to continue on this trade, for he believed it was very crucial for one generation to carry on the gifts and acquired knowledge of the previous one. His grandson David-Louis joined the company and began delivering watches to surrounding countries. The family’s trade soon became an industrial venture, when David-Louis’ eldest son, Frederic-Louis took over. Then came Frederic-Emile, and Jules-Emile, who partnered up with Nestor and Paul-Alcide in order to create E. Blancpain & Fils. In 1983, an indicator was created on the dial to display the moon phase as well as the date and time. In 1989, the world’s thinnest chronograph was created, as well as the first self-winding split-seconds chronograph ever to be invented. The following year, the world’s first self-winding Tourbillon watch was created, which included the date and power reserve for a week. The Blancpain collection includes the Le Brassus, the Villeret, the Léman, and the Spécialités. The Le Brassus collection includes Blancpain’s most exquisite designs, and has many different and intricate watches. The Villeret collection is based on its exquisitely unique design. With sleek lines and dial faces, it represents simplicity with a very elegant touch. The Léman collection was created to represent the pleasures of travel. Named after Western Europe’s largest lake, it symbolizes voyage and travel. The Spécialités collection is a very aesthetic collection created for individuals with definite character and exceptional personality.
